vic park, yes 70 cms, it has echolink but when your trying to talk on it using echolink it makes the audio shutter like a machine gun as Robbage said.

Yep. Keep us informed :o

It's not too bad later in the evening on weekends. That noise isn't echolink, it's LIPD noise and happens without a link. With a bit of luck we can keep RLM as a backup if it gets linked this week

The birthday bunny showed up a bit early and I'm pleased to say I have 70cm capabilities now :D

I can hit the Vic Park repeater, though it does seem rather noisy?

There's a bit of hiss on the repeater tail, but nothing overly much... It's usually pretty reasonable for me. What about the voice ident, how does that come through for you?

That's exactly it - noisy tail on the repeater beep. The voice ID is fine though. Is it noisy (usually) in use? (ie: do people sound noisy through it?)

Not unless the machine gun noise comes through. That's more or less random and quite loud. You'll hear it :)

Definitely haven't heard that yet! Sounds like I'll know it when I hear it though :)

Nice to not have to worry about the battery running flat in the handie though!

I forgot to mention it - it went off while you were talking at one point too. Freaky noise!

Good to talk to you and Zebedee, thanks for letting me test the 70cm :D

According to the vk6.net page VK6RVP only puts out 5 watts.

Mines the next one down - the SG7200
SG-7200 3.2/5.7dB gain, 96cm

Hopefully it can stay clear of trees and car parks :)

I would like to suggest Sunday evening again, using RVP this time (unless there's still somebody without 70cm?) with RLM as a backup (which doesn't appear to be echolink capable yet)
