Indeed but you need signal reports before hand to see if there is an improvement :)

Think its time to get the antennas up higher!

Hear hear - it's pretty much unreadable in Mt Helena which is unusual for the "hills" repeater locations. If I knew what was happening with that 30m tower, I know a great location on a hill up here.... :)
Well its a shame that i offered a prime location on my tower at Walliston and was ready to install it yesterday when at the last minute they decided on a better location.......Dont think it is any better!

Hmm, I thought it was at Wallyston based on the chatter that I have heard on the 2m band sometime last week whilst scanning around.

That old Lesmurdie Repeater seems to put out a whopper signal from its new home at Wallyston.

Wonder why it didn't go there? Anyway, more importantly where is it exactly? Someone mentioned Mazinod College in another post?

You'd need some pretty good filtering to filter the beacon out from the D-Star and analogue repeater inputs.

Myself, Gavin and Nathan are the three WARSUG voices on there ... In theory.

Gav's voice should be there, but the WARSUG segment couldn't fit in the hourly schedule this week, dammit.

Yeah, it's Maz. I believe the new antenna has already landed so it's probably worth seeing how that goes first. I think Duncan said 7.2dB That should give an ERP of (gets calculator out.... tap tap) quite a bit more signal :-"

It will be at Mazenod in the new year when access to the site can be arranged and other infrastructure preparations made. At the moment it's somewhere where it can be quickly reset or turned off if it goes berserk and starts eating people ;)

It's on an antenna with no real gain, and not very high up in the air either, which is why people in the hills, or down towards Armadale will have trouble receiving it - there's some areas that are in shadow.

Yep.

There's been a bit of a setback in the form of "canine vs feedline" - the feedline lost.

It'll be back on air once the feed-lines can be repaired ;)

Sounds like they need to be run inside some anaconda.

I was in Rockingham over the New Year and listened for the beacon. Not hearing it I assumed I was in an area it was not audible...Now I know why I did not hear it. Oh well will try again next time up there.

Shame it wasnt put in at Walliston!!

Hows the radio now? Will be a little bit sore if it was transmitting into a shorted feedline?
