Anybody interested in deciding on a 2m simplex freq where WARSUG hams can meet up for casual conversation?

Any in range of a small hand held until I get the termination of my car antenna sorted out.

Now I have an antenna that can SPEAK, I'm in for it :-)

We'll see how well simplex from Mt Helena goes...

edit: well, I just called listening. Anyone hear me?

edit2: I can hear you both, but I don't think you can hear me

Is there a way to change the steps on the Yaesu? Must be - at least one of the repeaters (and the one probably closest to you) is on 146.750

And a few volts too - I was blathering away and looked down and _nothing_ on the screen.

At least that explains why I wasn't as strong as earlier today.

Birthday in 4 weeks and counting. Have hinted heavily about a base unit

Also - great to speak with you both VK6LED and VK6ZMS :D

Settings. 25 KHz. My VX-3R can do 5KHz and yours is the big brother. Setting it to auto works quite well. You should be able to punch ina freq with the numeric pad as well?

Bottom of page 25 in the manual (I've got the PDF) - changing the channel steps.

I refuse to believe there's something the WangChung can do that the Yaesu can't

Likewise Madame. Not sure what there is as far as base VHF/UHF rigs. Can't see anything on the Yaesu site. There's the Icom IC-910 ready to go for sat (and 23cm option) It's my youngest's b'day around the same time. I think she deserves a brand new IC-706...
