It happens from time to time, usually a mic button gets accidentally stuck down.
If you have a time out timer option in your radio its a good idea to turn it on.

That's the third day in a row they transmitted crap at around the same time of day. Fortunately that makes it really easy for DF. Nothing on reverse in Swanbourne and signal 1 or 2 on reverse in Malaga. Hopefully it isn't somebody's bored kids getting into the shack :-]

As far as I've heard (so all this is second hand info of course), the ACMA generally don't bother "finding" people unless it's a direct threat to safety, like the twit who was keying up on the Perth Tower frequencies a while back, trying to give bogus instructions to planes. I heard they found him pretty quick-smart ;)

ACMA will act if someone gives them the info they need - such as times, dates, locations, etc but generally don't actively "track down" people any more.

However I suspect there's a few people in the community who would happily DF someone and pass all that information on to ACMA if the situation warranted it :)

For the record, I heard music and pre-recorded answering machine messages at around 4pm Wednesday and Thursday, and around 3pm Friday on RAP.

Last year a cordless phone was interfering with one of the Perth repeaters.
You could hear the ring tone and conversations in a foreign language.

This wasnt ring tone from a land line was different ring tones from a mobile phone being played over air on purpose.Vk6ngs

Heard again on RSR at 6:25PM Sunday night. The originating signal was barely audible here, but it was firing the repeater. Sounded like random music.
