If I can get myself near a radio, I'll see if I can give out a few points - if I do, it'll be a while since my call sign has been heardrobbage wrote:http://www.wia.org.au/members/contests/rdcontest

Re: RD contest
Good stuff. Any points are good points towards VK6's win this year. We'll be attempting 40m through to 70cm hopefully.

Re: RD contest
Proposed rules for this year's RD contest http://www.wia.org.au/members/contests/ ... 0VK4SN.pdf
A few changes highlighted in red in the doc
Eg...
HF contacts can now be in the same area by the looks of it
Four hours between contacts with the same callsign.
One person can only use one callsign.
Club team members cannot change after the start
"Exchange: A valid exchange consists of RS(T) followed by a 2 digit number indicating the number of years you have been a licenced Ham, or in the case of a club, the age of the club"

"Exchange: A valid exchange consists of RS(T) followed by a 2 digit number indicating the number of years you have been a licenced Ham, or in the case of a club, the age of the club"
Why the Rule Changes?
1. Start and finish times brought forward by popular demand. This will allow portable stations time to
pack up and get home at a reasonable hour including VK6.
2. Combining HF and above sections to encourage VHF/UHF only users to HF and vice versa.
3. FM & SSB combined to the phone section and included CW and RTTY together to keep it simple.
4. Removed the receiving only section and all 16 sections of WW2 ex military equipment as there was
only one submission.
5. Military equipment users will receive a special mention certificate.
6. Exchange modified to RS(T) + nr of years as a ham or a club. A lot of feedback indicated that if a
participant noticed large scores then the participant would not participate or only be on for a short
time.
7. Changes to multi op section now only allow one transmitted signal on air at any time. This will
encourage the use of the new introduced ‘teams’ section.
8. Introduction of teams was brought in to encourage individuals to support their club and gain more on
air stations.
9. Awards for foundation licences will encourage more F licence participation.
