echolink

In regards to echolink. Does anyone know what it means when a node has been disabled?

I also tried to connect to echolink repeaters in Perth last weekend while visiting a friends house. The NCRG repeater VK6RNC was responding with that node disabled message then. Could not access it via radio, my friend tried. The Fremantle repeater works one way. People can call from the internet but it would appear the radio is not inputting data to the computer as you can be heard when calling from echolink but when you respond via radio no audio is heard.

End result is no repeater in Perth can be accessed currently successfully. Mt Barker works well though.

I would say in this case the echolink syetem is off air at VK6RNC. Lesmurdie Echolink has not worked for a long time since Robyn left WA. The VK6RVP echolink has probably been removed because I notice Rob was running a link in Denmark and as he was running it in Perth he can't do 2 at once.

Ive been trying to connect to some echo link enabled repeater stations in perth. But for some of them, an error message recording says "the node you are trying to call is disabled"

Does anyone know what this means?

I just tried to talk to you again.
I think you need to adjust your modem to forward certain ports towards your PC to hear incoming audio.

Are you sure the audio from the repeater is getting into the computer? I have spoken with Slipknot on echolink without any problem so his ports seem ok. When listening, have you actually heard anyone else successfully having a QSO via echolink on VK6RNC? Until recently the node had been disabled. Maybe the node has been enabled but is it functioning properly

I was able to get a result from the test server. Ive spoken to the admin of the repeater at NCRG, He says hes having hard time trying to find any problems with it.

So I did it once, over 2 years ago. You avoided my question. You must be pretty sore if you have to actually go hunting to find a post that I edited.

I was trying to dial out with echolink on RFM and RVP but I must be doing something wrong. According to the echolink help file, the default setting is to just punch in the node number, but neither repeater worked. I tried the same on RNC last weekend and that didn't work either. Do I need to punch in a prefix? I know some repeaters have a help code but I don't know that either

I think with echo link you need a # before the numbers.
With IRLP you just key in the node number.

On VK6RVP repeater for Echolink it is actually '*' then the node number. I'm pretty sure it is the same for VK6RFM.
