Howdy all!

Scaning arond the Armateur Bands today I heard a repeater on thats repeating everything that one of the VK6XCJ armateurs was saying? I thought this was a bit wierd as all the other repeaters on this band don't do it??

I did a search on Gogle and find out that this repeater is a "Parrot" or Simplex Repeater and it takes what is said and re-plays it??

Has anywon else herd this on-air on the 146Mhz band??

I thought this type of fing was ilegal?

BTW, great sight - really enjoying all the infro on hear

I've asked you nicely. Quit writing like that.

The morse is the repeater's ident. It spells VK6RSR.

I've been keying up that repeater when I remember, to see what it's range is.

Couldn't hit it from Joondalup on my legal power, but can get it from home, Morley, Midland, Guildford, High Wycombe, etc.

Next time I'm south of the river I'll give it a go from that direction too - had I remembered to take my handheld with me I could have tested it the other day on the train to Mandurah, but I left the radio in the car :(

Oh and just out of curiosity perthscannerrx, how'd you find it and what have you heard on it so far? :)

Yep, trying your best is all that anyone can reasonably expect of you.

But don't forget that if a post is too hard to understand, you may not get the answers you were looking for :)

We're not wanting everyone to be award-winning literary writers, but I don't think it's unreasonable to ask people to spend an extra moment or two looking over their own posts before hitting the "submit" button to make sure that they are understandable :)

another thing to try what i used to do is type it up in a word document and then use spell check then copy and paste it into the message body :)

Personally, I use Firefox, with an Australian English dictionary/spell checker installed...works like Words version does, not as comprehensive, but eliminates ALOT of errors.
All this looking at HAM stuff is sparking my interest too much! costs a bit, a bit of time too, and...even less of a life. Looks and sounds awesome but I don't know how often I'd use it, but all the theory of it I would love! Oh and the HAM is making me hungry too :P
