As well as the excitement of the air show this weekend, Ham College ran another Foundation course. There were six participants, who covered all the theory and practical required for the exam.

One participant, who couldn't make it to the exam session next weekend completed his assessment after the course and passed. The others will be doing their exams on Saturday. Good luck!

It's proving to be a character building exercise in learning patience after passing the exam and still not being able to get on the air for another 4 weeks while waiting for the ACMA license to be processed :(

Yep - from when the paperwork is sent off, four to six weeks is the expected timeframe for a licence to be issued.

This coming weekend is the first Foundation course for Ham College for 2014. The course is full with eight people registered -- including a WARSUG moderator who's finally taking the plunge and getting his licence ;)

The exams will then be held the following weekend where we see how much they've remembered!

The next course will be held on the 3rd and 4th of May.

Yeah Yeah, well anyway.. I passed :) 23/25 correct on the multiple choice, and 100% for practical and oral.
Now just waiting for my license to be processed :)

And Dougie, if you mention the word "upgrade", I will beat you with a scanner antenna :) That goes for you too Gav!

Don't worry I won't need to mention anything. The bug will bite you sooner or later and you'll want to do something that needs increased privileges ;)

So, out of the class of February 2014, who has got their license already? Still waiting for mine, due to missing a signature on the WIA form :( D'oh!
I'm getting an itchy PTT trigger finger...
