I will donate a 2 Meter base antenna to your cause. Its called a pogo stick, it doesn't have much gain but it will get you on air.
I better keep this short in case a mod tells me off for being off topic

Well of course, people on a Foundation licence can construct their own antennas ;)

(How's that for bringing it back on topic ... ish? :P )

I was on topic...to a degree...I was advising people about what happens after the WIA has taken a shed load of money off you for the exam and your license etc.
Yeah good point there Doug, should try reading the books I have on loan and acquiring some materials, but that's another topic...

Here's a good one for a foundation licence holder who is still at school. A free 2m radio, PSU and antenna. (conditions set by the current owner)

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and other sentient beings!

There's another Foundation course being run by Ham College on the weekend of the 23rd and 24th May at Lynwood Scout Hall (located in the grounds of Whaleback Golf Course.)

So ... who here doesn't have a ham radio licence yet and has been thinking about it? If that sounds like you, then why not contact Ham College and register for the upcoming course? :)

Country folk in the south-west, I believe the Southern Electronics Group is planning a Foundation course sometime in June.

Well, the Foundation course is this weekend, with something in the order of five or six candidates at this stage.

(Still not too late if there's anyone else who wants to join in! ;) )

I hope the Foundation exam goes better than your flight test :-)

I'm sure it will!
