They're very nice radios. The 8900 I have in the car has more features, but I'm really impressed with the 7800. 1000 memories and wideband coverage means I don't need a separate scannerVK6MJS wrote:I had a chat last night on the Geraldton repeater. I am in Yokine.
btw
Nice radio the 7800, got two myself.
Haven't been able to crack Geraldton. Did you get the 147.000 or the 146.725MHz repeater?

D-Star looks awesome... just waiting for it to catch on a bit and for other manufacturers other than Icom release rigs for it. (and hopefully, for prices to come down)VK6MJS wrote: My next toy will be an Icom D-Star rig.

Couldn't sleep, so kerchunked some of the country repeaters. Busselton and Northam (147.275) are both S3-S5.VK6MJS wrote:I just heard the Busselton repeater ID @ S 5.

Thanks Gav for pointing this out to me the other night as well.
If only I could actually have a free evening when I'm not doing stuff to sit and have a chat and a play.
I really need to organise myself better

There were definitely two last time I was up there. (Plus one in Northampton with a voice ID. The other Gero repeater was on 146.725 or 146.775 and it was as deaf as a post...)ConstableCare wrote: Only one repeater in Gero Gav - 147.000MHz...

Indeed you are correct Gav, but the second repeater is currently off-air and sitting on a local amateurs (Gero) shack floor....vk6hgr wrote:There were definitely two last time I was up there.
