I've found a tracker that works with my Uniden GPS. So you can see where I am when I have the tracker switched on :P

That's great news Gav. What setup are you using for a radio? I see there are a few different radio's around that can do APRS.

Also, how did you get your Uniden GPS to talk with the radio?

Cheers, CC

I'm using the packet data port on my Yaesu FT-8900R. (Bascially, it's just a nice way to get to the audio). I'm then using a Tiny Tracker 3 to turn the serial NMEA GPS sentences the GPS spits out into audio data for the radio.

The packet is then received by my computer at home and plotted on a map.

Clever, eh? :-)

Does anyone know if the D-Star positioning data can be forwarded to APRS?

From what I've read, It can, but not straighforwardly.

Icom are coy on how to get to the data stream from D-Star into some sort of usable format from the PC-based repeater controller. The projects I've seen for gating APRS to D-Star involve using a D-Star radio and getting the transmitted data off air from the radio's serial port.

Has anyone got a large ui-view compatible map of Perth?
Mine is a bit small, it stops at Jandakot and Kelmscott
