Hi all.

Just wanted to double check as its been a while since my Regs exam.

I have my standard licence and was wondering if you are allowed to supervise your friend if they want to have a go at using dstar if they dont have a licence?

Yep. The current Amateur LCD says that an unqualified operator can be supervised by a Standard or Advanced licencee. The unqualified person can use the transmitter to basically push the button and talk. The qualified person needs to be the one doing the actual controlling of the transmitter (setting things like frequencies, power, etc).

Ref: LCD 3.(1A), page 7.
