Not much activity on the in town repeater on 146.650. Would think the Mt William repeater would have been a better choice than Saddleback while in Bunbury unless skeds back to Perth via the link are desired. Even then it could be a bit of a challenge portable or mobile in Bunbury.

Last I knew (a few years back) that was down, and has been down since. Unless those listings have been updated, then AFAIK it's still down. Please, prove me wrong :)

Ok you are wrong . I just heard the repeater ident.

It was returned to service last year, I think. Either that or 2006.

Im Going for a foundation licence and Ive heard rumors that there are satelites that amateur radio operators can use for extreme distance talk. Just woundering if they are usable in australia by foundation licenciees?
If they can, what bands are these satelites usualy on?
Check out some videos made by a US ham K7AGE on YouTube on working satellites from a H/T and handheld yagi - Quite good & informative!

hmm, I treid to get SO 50 when it came right over the top of me, tried transmitting to it, but didnt recive any reply, Tried to arm it using the CTCSS tone but no sucess. I Just basicly got my antenna on my roof placed in the horazontal position , facing the sky, no reply.
