G'day Again

From home - i cant access the local IRLP - will have to go mobile to do that - however i can hit a Echolink station

I cant find a Echolink node for Perth - or surrounding areas ... is there one ?

Found many for IRLP - but nothing for Echolink ....

Any tips ?

Walliston VK6RLM is supposed to be linked Real Soon Now

Edit: VK6RNC also seems to be down and never really worked for me

Mt Barker isn't really 'Perth surrounding areas' but you'll find some WA WARSUGers if you're lucky.

If it's the Roley repeater, then just do a call for him...I did...as he happened to walk into the room (apparently). I'd just done a "listening" call not long before calling him directly.

Another Foundation course is running at Ham College this weekend.

I believe there are around six or seven participants, a nice number for a course.

There will be a bit of activity on 2m and HF at various points during the weekend. Everyone is welcome to have a listen, but please keep the frequencies clear while there's training and assessments going on. Listen out for the club callsign VK6PIG

Ok folks, I'm starting up a save the Doug foundation and being a foundation and only having a foundation license I thought it appropriate to use the foundation forum [/bad puns]

I'm poor and it's all caused by this hobby...ok so maybe indirectly caused by the hobby, and directly caused by my starting with a small amount of funds and going back to my old past time hobby of spending money...only this time on very expensive gear. Hopefully sometime this weekend I get to go pick up my FT-897D from Geoff this will get me modern HF and 2m/70cm at home, once I have a tower...and the antenna's both still need purchasing . As such Doug will accept any non tax deductable donations to his bank account or will accept full credit card details... ok no don't send me money...or your credit card details for that matter.

So really why did I post this here? Well for anyone thinking of getting into the hobby, it's obviously quite cool to be the meat of a pig, I mean a ham, but can also be a tad expensive so spend wisely but get into it! Get into it! Plus it also serves as an update to those that want to know what I've got set up along the journey of remaining poor.
