Heard any HF Police active lately ?

I used to regulary hear 7660 & 9053 Khz for WA and 7800 khz SA but nothing at all more recently.

Sorry to jump in here.But what do i need to listern to these services?I have a uniden 996t with discone antenna.I take it i would need a HF radio to start and maybe a licence to use it.THANKS

Yeah, the Uniden covers 25Mhz and up. There are receivers that go down far enough but you'd have to do some research. You don't need a licence to listen to radio. You are restricted on iistening to certain types of transmissions like personal phone calls (eg cordless phones)
Most of WinRadio's receivers cover down to 500kHz (or lower). Make sure you get one that can do SSB because some scanners that cover HF only do AM and FM.
Yaesu do this one There's also the Alinco DJ-X11E and DX-R8, Icom IC-R75, IC-PCR1500 and the rest of that series & IC-R8500. Then there's this little baby for around $18,000
You really should use a decent antenna as well, eg a long wire. Your discone is probably designed for VHF and UHF. A discone for HF would be huge.

SES only use SSB- and it is USB
not sure about the other services

A decent long wire antenna or sloper antenna to get started

If you really decide to start chasing HF
sooner or later you will need a wide-band HF Balun and a decent earth

Thanks every one.Im looking at the Icom IC R75.Hopefully that will do the job.But then i can get the VR-5000 for an extra $100.

They both look like great receivers. There's also this computer controlled unit from WinRadio for $1000 (Ozzie made too) Covers up to 50 MHz

The Icom is a much better receiver.

The Yaesu is prone to overload on HF if hooked upto a decent antenna see reviews:
