Channel 9 News 487.3500000 MHz

Post by Nosferatu »

I found this interesting frequency basically it's coming from Channel 9 News at around 6:00 PM.

I can hear the actually TV News sound in the background with a few seconds delay, but what so interesting is that
there is a guy who gives instructions of what footage to play next and a a few of his personal comments of what is currently
showing on TV. I also think that he also decide what background music to play for a particular footage.

The frequency ACMA registration is

Swan Television & Radio Broadcasters Pty Ltd
Bank West Tower 108 St Georges Terrace PERTH

Awesome, that's one of the ones we noted down previously but it's great to hear what is actually on it and I'll certainly have a listen sometime too.
"VKI, NJ050 will you be attending the job?"
"Negative VKI, my desk is bolted to the floor".

Sounds like what you are hearing is the Director's talkback from the studio control room.

It's the IFB channel for crews in the field during a live cross.

Yep, and you'll only hear it if they are doing a live cross by radio.

Sometimes they will use a mobile phone instead (like when doing a cross from Freo oval) - the reason is because the radio coverage is patchy down that way
