Hi all,
I seem to have issues connecting my UBCT9 to my Windows 7 machine via the serial port.
Any program I use to connect to it, TrunkView, Uniden's Scanner Software or bcTools, cannot connect to the scanner.
Although it was working in XP years ago.
Any idea how I can diagnose this and get Trunkview working?
The scanner is setup in Remote Mode and speed settings match the speed settings on my PC.
Cheers,
Uniden UBCT9 and Windows 7 Serial Port

Re: Uniden UBCT9 and Windows 7 Serial Port
Settings used for COM1 are:
Speed 57600 (Tried other speeds also)
Data Bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop Bits: 1
Flow Control: None
Are these correct?

Double check that the device manager COM port settings are the same as well.

Re: Uniden UBCT9 and Windows 7 Serial Port
Real comm port or USB comm port? Windows likes to reassign port numbers for USB comm ports when you use a different USB port.

Com settings sames in the app as in device manager.

Please disregard...
I just discovered, the serial cable I was using, marked 940-0024C is a UPS signalling cable, so not likely to be a straight through....
FOund a short and older serial cable and it talks to the scanner fine now..
Need to go get a longer cable tomorrow...
Thanks for your assistance now to work out how to use Trunkview
