This was listed on the VKlogger forum. As not everyone would have seen it I have brought the links here. The ACMA database has been overlaid on google maps. Shows licensed transmitters and if you click on a transmitter site it brings up the frequency allocation and who it belongs to.
This is the general information page: http://spench.net/drupal/software/rfmap
and this is the actual map: http://krump.spench.net/RFMap/

Australian Geographical Radio Frequency Map
There are 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those who do not.
Re: Australian Geographical Radio Frequency Map
Outstanding link, thanks for posting it.
I have found it useful so far for identifying what carriers are on cell phone towers that I have seen. It was interesting to see that the tower closest to my home didn't actually have my carrier on it.

That's pretty awesome. My neighbour's plasma TV doesn't seem to be listed though.
Try looking at Observation City tower or similar buildings to see why your two-way goes berserk when you drive past.

Thanks for sharing that fantastic find Blinky, it sure makes general browsing of the ACMA database much more user friendly.

Hi folks,
Thank you for checking out my site and posting these nice comments! I'm still working on it (most recently the user-contrib infrastructure). If you have any specific comments/suggestions/bug-reports/etc, then please don't hesitate to describe them here so I can attend to any outstanding issues. Also, if you have found cool areas/filters, then don't forget you can copy&paste the URL (e.g. here) too!
PS: If you'd like to follow development progress, see Oz-wide density/coverage maps, etc, check out the blog (click on the top-left 'spench.net' logo in RFMap, or subscribe to the RSS feed).

Any chance of implementing this for Android?
Or Google Maps for Android?

@numloxx: Thank you. It's on the never-ending To Do list!
@Nosferatu: Slowness probably due to maxed out CPU this morning. Tried again since? (iPhone screenshots are 'mobile' version of site running in Safari.)
@yorky: Glad you think so! Some more excitment on the way tonight...
The site has moved to http://maps.spench.net/rf/ so please update your bookmarks if you haven't already (the old link still works, but this way you can skip the re-director).
