Bali scanning

Im heading to Bali soon.Just want to know is it worth taking the scanner?

You may want to check up on the legality of a scanner in Indonesia,
Asian countries don't seem to like them.

Thats what i was thinking.Its probably not worth the risk.

A mate of mine did take his hand-held to Bali a couple of years ago, but he only used it at his hotel (which was right beside the airport) and just to listened to incoming and outgoing flights.
I was in Malaysia at Christmas/new year and there was a sign at baggage collection specifically stating that radio receivers capable of receiving 118-174Mhz were a prohibited import.

Yes it is worth it ... if you can understand them of course ... especially in their 2-meters band ... a lot of hilarious QSO's going on at all times ...
