Help for "Newby"

Post by Unit »

Howdy all ! Just looking for some help with Uniden UBC 72 XLT Scanner. I really only use it for Police Radio in the Peel/Mandurah area. It is totally stock and I need more GRUNT. Can anyone suggest what antenna to purchase to get better reception please ?

I would also appreciate any other advise on gaining better performance from the scanner.

Site looks great.

If you really want to hear Perth from Mandurah, then a discone would be great if you have the space and ability to mount it.

Check out the one at the top of this page to get an idea:

Other than that, just a simple Scantenna from Dick Smith Electronics or something similar would be "acceptable" but I really wouldn't have high expectations from it.
