1004mhz band

General questions on scanning from 30 to 3000Mhz. Not sure what you can receive in your area? Here's the place to ask!

1004mhz band

Post by numloxx »

Was bored today so decided to scan the upper freqs on my scanner.
Found some voice on 1004.2875 and 1004.0625.
ACA says it belongs to the Dept of Defense, but the transmissions i heard sounded more like a bus company that drives to the airport etc.

Any idea who it is?

This may be a long shot.............

Transfield Pty Ltd has the transport contract on Garden Island (HMAS Stirling). Could it be them?.....they run buses, trucks and cars etc etc.

Just a suggestion anyway......

Best wishes,

Nick

It was closer to Perth. As the Airport was mentioned a number of times.

Hi All

The Dept of Defense have freqs from 1002.000Mhz to 1006.990MHz all used fron time to time.
Last heard range data on 1005.252MHz from Gingin to LANCELIN Control

I am fairly sure that it is a harmonic from the 865-870Mhz trunking band.

I had the same experience back in 1999 when I was new to trunking and equipped with a UBC3000xlt - i was picking up 865Mhz images.
