CDMA/GSM 900 6db Antenna

Post by Pepe72 »

Hey guys, Ive come across a fairly sturdy CDMA/GSM 800/900 Vehicle Antenna 6db gain, looks like a UHF antenna in size with a solid spring base complete with bullbar mounting bracket. Is this antenna suitable for other uses like as a external scanner antenna or UHF or is it only suitable for 800/900 mhz range. Thanks

it would be tuned for 800-900Mhz, so it wont pick up anywhere near as much as a mid band antenna, UHF/VHF perhaps, depending on what you want to scan i guess, you could use it, although it will be next to useless i would imagine.
Im fairly certin you can look forward to about 0.5db of gain at 450Mhz, maybe even worse.
