WA Radio Scanner Users' Group

Hi All,

Anybody know of any definite frequencies used by Local Gov't Rangers around both Perth Metro and Country Regions?

I know, I could search the ACMA Database etc etc, but thought I would ask here first just incase anyone may listen to this type of traffic? It is called WARSUG after all!

I know that Joondalup use mobiles with the PTT feature rather than radios.

City of Joondalup isn't using it.

Bulk of comms usually happens between normal working hours, with limited comms over the weekend unless a major event is on

The certain council I am talking about use's differenct frequencies every single day with no two days consective the same.

However playwork is right in the 470 range.....

Mind you, still cant figure out why you want to listen to the Rangers..... We all dribble shit

The only interesting comms over the last week was two dogs running in and out playing car chasie on a very busy road.....

anyway i think he wants the commintiy service rangers. u know guys that go out and look for damage and check everystreet in there designed area. full stop

Some frequencies would be nice guys... Im not really worried about how much traffic is on the frequency!

I thought this was a Scanner Users Group not an Idle Chit Chat Association!

Melville rangers operate on 463.650 and 464.000. Their security patrols use PTT.

South Perth rangers operate on 471.300 and 471.600.

Canning rangers and patrols operate on 465.675 and 466.600.

Vic Park rangers operate on 159.125 and 163.725.

Bayswater rangers and patrols do have radios, but I still cannot locate their frequencies.

Perth rangers and patrols are on a trunked network.

With rangers, you will often find they share the band with maintenance and road work crews etc. You may probably find slightly more excitement listening to the security patrols hunting for graffiti taggers and suspicious things in the neighbourhood... though pity many use PTT.

Wouldnt completely dismiss these frequencies as sometimes its interesting to hear when they come across a group of drunken kids in a local park or observe a hoon about to do a race or wheelie down a quiet street.... especially now that VKI has gone digital

I have heard Bayswater security/ranger patrols operating on 162.95mhz a few times before. The frequency seems to be used by maintenance crews during the day but I have heard patrol activity on it during the night.
