I've said it once and I'll say it again but this time I quote:
SMH Article wrote:The Australian Communications Authority said the scanners were not covered by existing legislation when used to listen to radio communication. However, all forms of eavesdropping on phone conversations is illegal under the 1979 Telecommunications Interception Act.
"VKI, NJ050 will you be attending the job?"
"Negative VKI, my desk is bolted to the floor".

Was that a Question or a Statement? It might be illeagle but its easy enough to do. Some times Telstra will even help, a few months back the Telstra PIT out the front of mine and my neighbours houses had a crossed wire, the sheilding on the 2 wires had corroded due to the gell fill beeing in the casing to protect the wires from water, had melted and the 2 wires became one , meaning we could listen to their phone calls and they could listen to ours.
The problem has now been resolved.
