Connectors or solder?

Post by celestial_insight »

I've been having a discussion with a mate about joining coax. Most antennas come with a length of coax already attached and often we need to lengthen it. We are at a stalemate as to whether we should use a connector or directly join them with solder? Whattyas reckon?

Because I use RG213 I only ever use connectors but the discussion had me thinking. Thanks for the replies.
