Are you sure they even have radio? When I was up there a few years back there was only 1 bus and calls to it from the base were made by phone.

Here in Kal there is also a patrol bus (1 of) which also is only on at certain times. Whenever the police request the bus the operator replies "I'll just give them a call".

Basically if the bus in working the mobile that belongs with it is switched on :D
Formally ZO100, now KG100 :D

The police will have the omnitronics console set to all channels. they are not just transmitting on the gero channel. They can select which radio the audio goes to but ,particularly on weekends lock all channels and transmit on all at the same time . This is done in case they don't notice what channel the recieve audio comes from. They do the same at most of the regional centres ,bunbury, albany and narrogin etc. best look at the type of antenna on the vehicle and use that as a point to search on . Then go to the ACMA website and do a search on the postcode for frequency range you believe the antenna belongs to. antenna 1 metre 70 -80 megs, antenna half metre 150 -175 megs and antenna approx 600 mm with a coil UHF 450 -500 megs. hope this helps as a start point.
