Main UHF channel is 466.075
The security cars all have long low band VHF antennas on them (Edsec have two 70Mhz repeaters in Perth). Perhaps the UHF channel is for portables?

Does anyone actually listen to this, I worked here in a past life and they actually get quite busy.

I worked for EDSEC a few years ago and yes, the UHF channel is for the portables. The main freq is the VHF and the vehicle then repeats it on the UHF for the portables and visa vera.
Dont quote me but from memory the main VHF freq for North was 79.075

That does come up registered to them, as well as 79.025 Transmit? Any ideas if both channels are used?

Both are used. They are also simulcast on 466.075 but as far as I know, they don't use that channel at all.
The cars have on-board repeaters that re-transmit the 79MHz channel from the car to the driver's portable when he's away from the vehicle.
