The receive site is in Herne Hill and from memory the HF frequency is 8022Khz.

There is no entry for this transmitter in the ACMA database for the above frequency... has anyone else been able to find it?

The only West Australian entry i can see for that frequency is Plutonic mine operations in Meekatharra. Perhaps the link is only on HF ? any ideas Gav?
I searched Herne Hill and there is a listing there for the West Australian Repeater Group at a site called Tic hill. Not for that frequency though. There are other amateur radio frequencies running to and from that site so Im guessing it is one of these. I have put it in the banks to scan although im not ideally located.

It's a HF to VHF link that's on 24 hours a day.

You won't find the link in the ACMA database, it's a class-licensed LIPD device running at 20mW.

Ahh, well this explains it then. So what sort of range does it cover? Probably not a chance in hell in me picking it up in this neck of the woods eh ?
