Sydney Police Scanner - Online Feed!

Post by Matsky »

Hey guys,

Don't know if you've come across this before, but it's pretty cool:

http://www.gleff.com/onlinescanner/

Always plenty happening in Sydney!

I found the link from this site which has a lot of US online feeds:

Cheers,

Who is your ISP? Chances are you aren't connected to WAIX, in which case - you will not be able to connect to the online scanner.

I live in Sydney Australia and one of my many hobbies is listening to radio scanners. I own several models such as the Uniden UBCD396T, UBCD996T, UBC780XLT (which are the Australian equivalent to the Uniden BCD396T, BCD996T, and BC780XLT.

Matey with all that gear how do you find time to do anything but listen
and especially in the VKg area

Good luck to you I couldn't afford all the equip you have

By far the majority of warsugites use Bigpond (No idea why, though!)

My FESA scanner is open to everybody, WAIX or not :-)

I'm not familiar with what's going on in NSW, so I had a quick look around. The website "Sydney Scan" says: "The Greater Sydney Area of the NSW Police is now encrypted which means that people are being forced to either look outside the square for things to monitor or give up their hobby" which probably explains why there's no streaming NSW Police audio any more.

If you're interested in other (non-Police) scanning in NSW, I did stumble across Far South Coast Scan which has a live stream of the fire brigade and other things...

That is correct, all areas of Sydney, Blue Mountains, Newcastle, Wollongong and Central Coast of NSW are encrypted

occasionally you might hear VKG txing in the clear but this is rare and probably indicates there is a problem the techs are attempting to sort out.
