Police going digital encrypted is this true?

General questions on scanning from 30 to 3000Mhz. Not sure what you can receive in your area? Here's the place to ask!

Police going digital encrypted is this true?

Post by sportsforum »

I use to scan years ago but am in the market for a new scanner and was looking at buying the PRO-97.

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and i was advised that police in NSW radio frequencies are now digital and can't be listened in on? WTF. I loved listening to the police but now Im thinking twice about buying because of this.

FIrst of all is this true?
Secondly should I be looking for something in a scanners capabilities to be able to listen in on?
Thirdly what do you people suggest?

Thanks in advance

This is True, WA Police are changing over to the digital system currently.
And No you won't hear them eventually.

Still plenty of other things to listen too though.
