Hi all
I don't suppose anyone knows if Western Power use radios and if so, what frequencies in the Perth hills area - Mundaring/Gidgegannup/Chidlow ?
Our power goes out pretty frequently, and I've always wondered what the techs are saying when they come out to repair and what the faults actually are (I imagine there's a fair few branches in powerlines at fault though).
Thanks
Western Power

It looks like Western Power have lots of stuff assigned to them...
I think the ones we'd be most interested on the ACMA Register of Radiocommunications Licences are the "Land Mobile" assignments.
Even so, there's still lots of those as well...

I think that's a bit dangerous... mobile base stations need power too and their range is limited compared to radio.godinoz wrote:I have spoken to the wwestern power guys and it seems that most of their comms are done on mobile.

Welcome aboard!
I had a suspicion that most of the utilities used trunking, and you've confirmed it.
