Has anyone received any FM voice coms from this military sat service on frequencies around 240~270Mhz ?
I used to be able to receive the old FLTSATCOM service when it was used back in the early 90's but searching around on the 240~270 Mhz i have'nt heard anything for ages only lots of dead carriers ( that don't appear to be receiver birdies ) or some form of high speed data pulses.
The always seems to be a strange continious WFM signal on 269.750 & 269.850 Mhz but i can only ever hear background noises as though a mic is left keyed on, i remember that was there 20 years ago sounding the same ?

Most likely illegally imported equipment such as phone, wireless link etc. I've listened to the family up the road doing Karaoke around those frequencies. There's also somebody nearby here using something like a wireless speaker or headphones plugged into a PC. They're in the middle of the 144MHz amateur band. If ACMA cared, there would be fines and confiscation of equipment.

All the frequencies are weak and virtually identical in strength and all asian speaking so i believe there comming off a satellite somewhere and nothing locally ground based around me.
I have now picked up about 20 other frequencies as well between 245 Mhz & 265 Mhz all with simular transmissions on them, some just seem to a series of tones.
I'll keep hunting and hopefully i'll come across a english transmission ?
