G'day Dazla,

Are the new uniforms similar to WAPOL (colours etc)? I think the public should be clearly able to distingush the difference.

I occasionally have a bit to them with them at work and most of them are excellent very eager to assist.

I think they're area of their jurisdiction also extends to the upper concources at the Rail Interchanges (on the northern rail line), where the buses operate from.

cheers

I can see your point and there's good arguments both ways I guess... As they are "railway police" I think they should look similar to "everywhere else police" which then gives a consistent look of authority. However I don't think they should look exactly the same otherwise there's going to be people who claim that they are just copycats...

Like a lot of things, you probably can't win either way :)

That makes sense as they are allowed to operate on railway land, and the bus stations on the northern suburbs line are on (or over) the railway reserve.

They can prosecte for many offences under various acts.

The new uniform is lighter shade of blue to what the police currently have with black cargo pants, remember the Police changed their uniform to a similar colour to Transit Guards.

The words Transit Guard will soon be off the badge too.

And then of course there is the Transit Unit which are real Police officers who normally wear plain clothes (casual wear) just to add to the confusion.

GC101,

Trasit Guards do their own briefs before they go home, ie after the arrest.

The supervisor will sometimes start the Mat Facts just to save a bit of time but when the officer gets back to the office he will compile the brief and get the complaints signed off by a JP. Transit Guards will handball any serious issues to the PRU where they can such as Agg Assualts etc..they have a MOU with the PRU.

Are you a Police Officer or recruit?

Howdy Dazla,

Saw D5 cruise into Warwick I/C this arvo and it's a new Rodeo (the new model with the alloytec motor), only a few weeks old by the looks of it.

I'm dying to see the Crewmans.

Yep it is a new Rodeo, the alloytec engine models haven't been out that long.

It's a 1QBB plate also which aren't that old.

D5 or D6 used to have a bull-bar on the front, but neither of them appear to now.

If your a rail enthusiast what's the newest B class train in service?
