I doubt it. That's like asking does a security guard carry the same equipment as a Police Officer.

Yeah the Wilson guys carry the same equipment except their batons are only 21" - restricted by Security and Related Activities (Control) Act 1996, and their sprays are a different brand - SABRE instead of First Defense.

I know because I used to be one of them... eeeek, wont do that again! :S

Hope that helps.

The OC carried by Wilson is different to the one carried by T/O's and WAPOL because there one is restricted, wherease the one Wilson carries is available 'over the counter' so to speak because there is no specific power for them to have it other than the genreal exemption the weapons act that allows the carrying of it in certain circumstances

Weapons Regulations 1999

7. Oleoresin capsicum spray weapon prescribed under
section 7(4)

(2) Section 7(3) of the Act does not apply to a spray weapon
referred to in subregulation (1) if it is carried or possessed by a
person for the purpose of being used in lawful defence in
circumstances that the person has reasonable grounds to
apprehend may arise.

(ie. I'm a little old lady and need to look after my self defence) if your a 6foot 6 male kick boxer living in Floreat you would be pushing your luck to claim you have 'reasonable grounds' to have OC if asked, whereas if you a 4foot4 18yr old Female living in Balga walking home from work at 10pm..........................................

Sorry to drag up an older topic,

Do Transit Officers carry warrant cards/badges? Or is it all overt work in uniform not requiring any further ID?

Cheers :)

Thanks!

Have they taken accoutrements off bus security and revenue officers?

Have noticed around the place they don't seem to be carrying anything.
