No, I mean literally stopped, all lined up one after another at the red signals. They were back when I drove back, at about 12.30.

Don't rely on getting on a train today... 40 drivers have called in sick.

Not quite true with that statement.

If your going to the city on the Armadale / Midland / Fremantle Lines, no delays are expected.

However, Mandurah / Joondalup lines your looking at a service every 1/2hr with a 6-car train. Its going to be almightly squished!

My bad?

Wonder why the hell they can't pull some of the drivers from the Armadale/Midland/Freo line.. !

Sorry Fastlane, that was a bit harsh of me!

Probably find out that there may be different awards on the different lines and not all drivers are allowed to driver the B - Sets as they are not trained.

Yep..... I was one of thousands who were affected this morning.

Now I get a true understanding of what Sardines jam packed into a tin, feel like........

Complaint sent to Transperth... :)

They could have at least given commuters a free ride for having to wait over an hour for a train. (Mandurah line).

When I spoke to one of the drivers at Mandurah they said they were all trained on both sets

The 3 lines not affected the drivers are biased out of Claisbrook, the other 2 lines are from Nowergup or Mandurah

Having 40 drivers off sick is going to cause a big dent in staffing no matter how you look at it, either way you wont be able to get the service to full with that amount off.

AO11912, not all drivers are cross qualified. Unfortunately, the discussion with Fastlane was made about why they didnt borrow drivers from Claisebrook.
