or 000 :)

apparently they are going to install panic buttons in the drivers area for such a situation: when hit, it will send a message to the depot, and they can send Police, Security or Ambo's as required

Anything I say is my opinion, and has nothing to do with/does not reflect the views of anyone I was/am/will be involved with/employed by/volunteer for/associated with. There, I think that should cover it!

But if the bus driver is warned of these people through there security they can keep driving. Its not going to stop the rock throwers. But it may stop some of the assaults.

That's a slippery slope, who's to tell if they are drunk? If they are actually perfectly fine and the bus is told to sail right past them at 11pm how does that person get transport?

Well put it this way.If there is a group of people odviosly drunk, fighting, sniffing petrol with guns and rocket launchers the driver can be warned.

Well if he or she is found guilty, I hope they throw the book at them. And the rock.

Rock throwing on Scarborough Beach Road, Doubleview on 4th November. Transperth Security (2 cars)attended, investigated and arrested one juvenile female who was in the company of 8 other drunk and aggressive youths. WAPOL arrived and assisted. Offender eventually charged with:

1 x Criminal Damage
4 x Assault PO (Both the transit and police officers were kicked and spat on)
1 x Resist Arrest / Obstruct PO
1 x Disorderly Behaviour

The transperth security boys (and gals) are doing a pretty good job, with the little resources they have. They need support not critisism.

Was that the 4th or Saturday the 14th? Heard very similar last Saturday however possibly in Mullaloo (though that may have been separate).

That one was on the 4th. Last saturday there was a large incident though. Group of IC3s at belmont forum were being abusive towards officers, they moved them on from the area but then they walked down the street and beat up a young male and female outside their house and smashed their car up with a baseball bat. Wilson transits intervened and WAPOL attended shortly after. I think both transit and WAPOL managed to track down and arrest all the offenders.

4 Youths were arrested in Kwinana over the weekend for rock throwing and throwing bottles of an 'unknown fluid.' Unsure of damage, but no injuries to persons. It's just a matter of time before someone else gets seriously injured.
