418.300 ?

hey i came across the freq of 418.300 while in south perth i took some video since i had the camera there http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Pz6AuEB ... annel_page

just wondering what this is since i could recieve it from all around perth , and now at home i attached my tv antenna to my scanner and i hear location confirms from joondalup, im in port kennedy more towards mandurah from rockingham. is it like a base station for all transit officers or something ?

The railways use two channels on their network - one for train drivers, one for security and PTA staff. The different frequencies are linked together so all you have to do is tune to the best driver and security/PTA frequency for your area and you'll hear all the metro traffic.
