...not to refer to their officers as Transit Officers when dealing with the public...
Public, key word. On my roster it states "Transit Officer" and on my union agreement it states "Transit Officer". In any public forum it will state "Transperth Security Officer".

Anyways, enough of arguing. Merry Christmas to all and let us hope that santa brings us a government employed fully sworn unit of transit officers to work on our bus network :D

Mike 1/2/3, Kilo 1, Wiskey 1 and Juliet 1 are Path Transit supervisors (usually at the major terminus's) . Juliet 6 I believe is a mechanic. None are security officers.

110 is mobile call, not 1/10.

Didn't know this one, thought it would fall under the categories of IC1/2/3 etc. Indigenous would most likely be an IC3.

im sure i just covered that... yes, PTA refer to us at Transperth Security. Because we are. I was just pointing out what our employer calls us.

And to your previous comment:
Exactly Fastlane, exactly.

I've dealt with these Wilson security officers twice now and to say I am not at all impressed by what I saw and witnessed with a heavy handed approach that infact inflamed the situation four - fold.
Your completely correct. There are some that should not be working in the job. But its not their fault, its the PTA that has privatised the job and not placed any standards of recruitment on wilson.

But when it comes to things like:
Cant wait to run into you, hope you catch buses

Get a sense of humour.

We'll try again...

Show at least a little bit of respect for the job that people do... If anyone saw page 3 of Saturdays paper you should be able to appreciate what absolute scum exist in society there is. If someone is willing to choose an occupation that most others wouldn't, than who am I or anyone else for that matter in a position to have a crack at them.

Unless you have done the job of riding buses dealing with scum, or dealt with the rubbish that roam our streets at night, please dont make uninformed remarks. Please be assured no job is as simple as what you may think.

Te actions of one employee does not allow poetic lisence to brandish all with the same name, I have seen what I believe to be useless firemen, police officers, transit guards, lawyers, rangers, nurses, etc it doesnt mean they are like that!

Well anyway thats my humble opinion on the matter, so if you are going to voice strong opinions ragging on the job trannos do at least try and include some foundation to it...

Cheers

Singkenten, please don't get me wrong Transperth Security officers do a job that quite frankly many people wouldnt want to touch with a five foot pole. Same goes for firefighters, paramedics, nurses, police officers, rangers etc etc

I've seen and dealt with the 'scum' both during the day and night and know its not at all pretty, sometimes its quite hard and for that you need to think outside the box quickly.

All I am trying to say is everyone goes about their job different way wether right or wrong, it isnt me to judge. Therefore I'll edit my previous posts to reflect this.

BTW, bawds25 I have a sence of humour I just didn't find that particular comment funny, especially considering the job you do.

Regards,

WF

it's clear that you are a public officer for what? You are not designated a a security officer as defined in the Public Transport Authority Act 2003 section 3... [-X

or am i reading it wrong?

Personally I can't find any legislation that says they can, I can find a fair bit that say that they cannot thought
