Hi! ALL,

All entries in the 419MHz list are no longer valid, these have been vacated by ARC Rail to allow for future use by PTA for the new Metro Net allocations.

All new UHF radios in use with Australian Railways have a scan facility which allows the radios to search for the best/nearest transmitter as the train travels along its journey, The PTA EMU's are also fitted with this type or radio.

As for The GSR Beverley to Albany line, this is still on the VHF system, however, the trains are worked via the Train Order System and crews use GSMR mobile phones to receive their orders to proceed from section to section, as that line is not CTC (Centralised Traffic Control) enabled and only Grain trains operated in that area presently.

I hope this clarifies things for you.

I am a former WAGR/Westrail employee and since retirement have kept a keen eye on the changes,

Cheers, Peter (lxusr) :P
