A strange incident that happend on monday...

Post by doggie015 »

On 4/3/2013 I boarded bus 1486 at Oats St station and out of the blue at approx 1:49 pm the driver asked everyone to leave the bus for no apparent reason. There were no visible or obvious mechanical faults, no audible alarms and no radio activity before the announcement was made and once all the passengers were off the bus it went 000 and the driver waited for the next service and has a chat before getting back into their bus and drove it away.

Does anyone have any idea what happened here? Obviously the bus was running fine and it could drive on it's own power so why go 000 out of the blue when there is no problem?

Also: It was a 99 service and at no point did the sign say "Terminating at Oats St station", I was on the bus at the time the announcement to get out was made and if it was terminating I would not have been able to board at Oats st station

If that was the case then the driver would have radioed that to the depot and the bus probably would not have been allowed to leave the station under it's own power until they bought in a jerrycan or something! (The last place you want to be during peak hour is stuck behind a bus that has run out of fuel!). Plus the bus was idling for about 6 minutes before the driver went to talk to the driver of the other bus and then drove the bus away. If it was low fuel situation then the bus would not have been sitting there idling for that length of time. The driver would have either left as soon as all passengers were out or shut off the engine to wait

Driver would have had prior permission from "Mobile 4" (circle route manager) to run 000 to another point on the circle route to make up time due to late running
6ST Base is clear, is there a mobile calling on this channel?
