Midland Line - Service Delays
Effective Immediately: Monday 11 March at 8.15am
Services on the Midland lines are currently delayed due to a technical issue.

Midland Line services are currently cancelled heading from Midland to Perth.

Midland Line services will continue to operate from Perth to Midland however they will not be running to schedule...

Sources say that a packed eastbound train lost power near East Perth station. Another train has been sent to shunt it to Claisebrook rail depot.

The train could NOT have picked a worse time!

Midland Line - Service Delays

Effective: Immediately Monday 20 May Updated at 7.30am

Services on the Midland Line have resumed operation between Perth and McIver stations however services are delayed and are not operating to the scheduled patterns due to a technical issue.

Midland Line services are temporarily operating from Platform 3 at McIver Station.
There is a LOT of chatter flying around. Commuters have no idea what is going on and several coordinators are just as clueless. Radio says midland line now departing platform 6 and the station boards at perth are playing up something awful and as I was typing this a report came in of a passenger collapsed on platform 5 (Which is crowded due to smartrider gate failure). Ambulance has been called

MAJOR disruption to midland and fremantle lines. Fremantle line closed between Perth Station and Claremont Station and the midland line closed between Perth Station and Bassendean Station. That's a rather decent chunk of BOTH lines suddenly shut! As usual TransPerth are saying it is due to a technical issue which could be any number of things. Does anyone have any more information on this one?

EDIT: It is rather windy today so I suspect that it may have something to do with trees down on the lines

I saw the same generic "technical issue" message (I wish they'd be more forthcoming!) but never heard any more about what it was until I saw the "everything is back to normal" message a while ago.
