Hi Everyone....I'm currently listening to Perth Police through my computer with an online scanner.This is through windows media player.
I would rather be listening to Northam & Toodyay where I live.Can someone inform me as to whether I can do this just with my computer as I don't have a scanner?As I'm listening to Perth Okay so I'm thinking I would also be able to listen to Northam or Toodyay as well?Can anyone help please???

I don't know how to pick up northam channel through computer....I don't have a scanner....I thought if I could pick up Perth Metro online...I would be able to pick up Northam through the same means....Is there anyone out there that can give me a link to Northam online scanner? Or directions on how to tune into them online through my computer...I have broadband through satellite dish plonked on me roof.
I'm knew to this scanner stuff

You need to plonk an antenna on your roof, plonk a scanner in your den next to your computer, the plonk a lead between the scanner and computer. Then you can go through the internet and listen to your streaming scanner. You need to do this because metro channels are going encrypted so we need something to listen to also.

Country police will be analogue for the time being, and a digital scanner won't receive the encrypted metro comms anyway, so the expense of a digital scanner isn't necessary.

You don't...thats the whole point of the encryption, so that people that are being chased by the police don't know that some coppers have been directed around the corner that they're about to run around.

I been listening to this on windows media player through the net but the police aren't being heard on there now...Only CSA on the trains which is boring as bat poo.
