Software for a IC-400pro

Post by shane4070 »

Hi All

I’m New to this group. I purchased an ic400pro about 12 months ago and have since been told that I can get a program cable and software off the web, this I believe this will allow me to upgrade it from 5 watts to 25 watts. So I’m looking for helping this area. Where can I download the software from? (free if possible) and where is the best place to get the cable? And does if come with instructions? I live in Ocean Reef

Hi Shane.

You're probably aware that changing your Icom from 5W to 25W on UHF CB is against the CB Radio Class License (so its illegal)

These folks here might be able to help you with cable/software etc:

Well the software is $80.00 the cable is a USB std cable and as far as boosting it to 25Watts well if you don't want to give to the Radio Licensing Authority I would keep it at 5 watts I have Quansheng UHF 400-480
and I can talk from Palm Beach to joondalup and around the world using the PMR Gateway.
My Scanner is an IcR20 from 0.1 to 3.5 gHz
