Hi All.
My name is Andrew, and I'm new to this scanning business, other than using the scan function on my UHF that is I have just purchased a Uniden UBCD396XT for listening to DFES as I spend a fair amount of time in the bush looking for native orchids and there are times that where I go there are burns near by. I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand with getting the frequencies into my unit please? I've downloaded FreeScan and have all the leads to get info into the unit but doing it all manually is doing my head in
Cheers
Andrew

Cheers Yorky. Sorry to be a PIA but I have just tried to open it in FreeScan but it won't recognize the file, it is saved as a .996 file. . . whatever that is?
Cheers
Andrew
wont open it, there is a file on my computer, but it is only 10kb in size. it opens in notepad but it is all numbers and punctuation marks, if I try to copy and paste it into freescan it comes up with a message saying it has reached its maximum number of items
says it's 132 KB under properties but it wont open in the version of freescan I have. . . . I did read somewhere that Windows converts the file to something else unless it is sent as a zipped file?
Hey guys, wondering if I could get a copy also? I've been trying to program my 396XT however am still learning the ropes. Going bush soon so be really keen to have DFES for then... would be muchly appreciated!!
