An address can I.D someone.
I have also heard the base list a number of symptoms the patient is showing as they rush to a job.

Re: SJA Digital in 8 weeks
The following was published in Business News on October 8th regarding the SJA Digital upgrade...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ST John Ambulance Western Australia will upgrade its entire radio network to incorporate new digital technology for almost 800 ambulance staff across the Perth metropolitan area.
Tait Radio Communications, which has an office in WA, won the contract to upgrade the entire St John fleet, with the upgrade expected to take four months.
Tait WA regional sales manager, Glynn Sherris, said the new digital radio system would deliver voice clarity and enable more efficient use of maintenance resources for looking after the network, reducing the total cost of ownership for St John.
St John technical services director, Ashley Morris, said the new system would provide more effective radio coverage and the encrypted signal would ensure that private patient information could be securely communicated between paramedics and hospitals.
Meanwhile, communications firm SatStream this week launched Wave 4.8 in Fremantle, a solution for integrating disparate radio systems and other communications technologies and applications into a single and manageable standardsbased communications solution.
The technology allows personnel from agencies such as police, ambulance, fire or sea rescue to communicate with one another concurrently.
SatStream is the Australian agent distributing the technology, which was developed by Seattle-based Twisted Pair Solutions.

Damm another one going encrypted not that you could here much unless the system went down but was still good to listen too. Most off the Form K's are done by mobile phone anyway cant remember the last time i heard a direct patch on a P1 to a hospital.

Re: SJA Digital in 8 weeks
A couple of times I've even heard the MDT was down and so everything has been done over radio. Usually it's only for a short while and most crews try and keep stuff said to a minimum but sometimes that's not possible. Admittedly though I haven't listened to SJA for quite a while, so can't give you a recent occurance.Turbo wrote:Have never heard them give an address. All I here is "Priority 1 in Kenwick" etc

Re: SJA Digital in 8 weeks
Saw one of the new digital handsets on one of our new vans today- they look like a mobile phone! They seem to be able to receive the analogue signal but its sounds hazy and the p1 alert tone sounds really muffled. No doubt more vans will start getting these handsets in preparation for the digital move.

Re: SJA Digital in 8 weeks
Sweet mercy! Selcall/ANI calls have got to be the number one most annoying thing to listen to in the history of commercial two-way radio. Opening up the radio's squelch to noise and turning up the volume to max is less jarring than the BLOOP-DE-DA-BLOOP! at 90% system deviation after every message!Hotel Mike 107 wrote:96%of the ambulance have them cause if u listen they dnt make the cell call sound after the paramedic finished tlking and do you no how long till they go digital not to long im gathering as they been testing it(PAPPA 10-PAPPA 13) (RADIO WORK SHOP TEST CALLS)
If only PTA will switch it off on their network

(whinge mode off)
