Belmont 5 is a team leader
Actually, I think that in this case, Belmont 5 is an ambulance crewed by some of the students in the 2010 induction school.

Today there are Belmont 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. The vehicles are crewed by two students and a paramedic, and they are being tasked to low priority calls as part of their training.

But yer hearing alot of Belmont Crews Belmont 1 Belmont 2 3 4 5 and so on so i was wondering have they gotta new depot
As far as im aware there is no offical depot out of belmont, the numbers are different, they seem like team leader numbers, or maybe a student ambulance operating out of belmont, if it was a belmont ambulance it would be Belmont 21, or Belmont 25

a normal 2/2/4 (24/7) ambulance will be location 2x
eg Mandurah 21, or Morley 23

a 4/4 (day) ambulance will be location 4x
eg Central 41

if the reporting IS true, I have no sympathy for that sort of attitude...

Just curious i was at gloucester park n noticed medic one doin the first aid n not St John Ops is this a permanent thing or just temporary. The M1 crew seem to give the impression come November this year they were taking over the "SJA Paramedic" role as well.

The Paramedic service, hasn't been confirmed - to replace St.John, but can confirm our volunteer first aid services were no longer required due to "costing issues" - so your observations are correct, we (VFAS) are no longer there... :(

this may sound stupid so I apologize if it does....
i just stumbeled across this site looking for tips for WA's student ambulance officer interview, and i understand that this has something (or everything!) to do with radio scanners. Do all you have one? How do you get one? And is it just like your recieving calls from the ambo/fire/police department?
confused :?:

These may be of use:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_scanner
http://warsug.info/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4424

So not exactly "receiving calls from the ambo/fire/police" But listening into the many weird and wacky frequencies out there. (Air Traffic Control is my thing, so I listen to that)

This forum is for scanner and radio users. Part of listening to a scanner can be monitoring ambulances, although I believe that's pretty difficult now that they use digital encrypted. If you look at the main page of this forum, you can see we listen to all forms of emergency services, amateur radio, commercial radio, aviation, transport and CB.
As part of monitoring all that stuff, we get a lot of people with similar interests who like to talk about other aspects than radio (eg emergency services vehicles, current fires etc)
Hope that helps!

Had to stop and look this morning. SJA New style merc under lights and sirens heading down Cambridge St towards St John of God. Had a rather large bullbar on the vehicle and as it went by read it was from Corrigin Sub Centre.

Question is, does this happen alot? Country Ambulance like Corrigin heading inside the CBD to drop patients off?
