pulse same in both
when weight is applied more pain no altered sensations and no long journeys or flying normal temp in both legs colour normal apart from the bruising it hurts worse when foot is moved sideways more then up and down

still didnt kinda help on what ppl thought she may have done[/quote] sorry i went on a tangent, at the end of the day, you said there was bruising and swelling which equals and injury of some sort and that she has shooting pain up the lateral side of the calf when she puts weight on it plus pain on lateral movement of the foot . She has an injury and needs to see a quack. get a scan done etc.. bruising indicates soft tissue, shooting pain up the leg maybe tendon, but pain increase with ice possibly bone, so go figure lol. how long is a piece of string lol. sorry cant really diagnose on that one, not that we should in a prehospital enviro anyhows. sometimes the simplest of things can be the most perplexing lol
