Hi all.
all i know is that there are 5 transmitt frequencies that leap off from belmont, one of them leaps it way down here via repeaters all the way down to margaret river. it includes, bunbury pinjarra collie, donnybrook ect.
ive just spent ahhh 3 hours making a scamatic of the south west network which is 1 fifth of the network. and as Gavin vk6 said in another thread , its bloody MASSIVE.
There is a link through all of them but does anyone know if anything said in bunbury over the ambulance frequencies (duh) if it will reach down here. reason im asking even though it could be, just wanted to know if anyone knew ifit does?

im going to stop talking now.

Easy way to find out. Do a scan between, say, 410 and 415Mhz and see if you hear any 6DS traffic :-)

The 6DS UHF system seems to be a group of 10 channels that are reused all throughout Perth. The radios vote through the channels to find the one with the best signal. Works sort of a primitive mobile phone network.

Ive programmed a few frequencies in based on whats listed on the sheet but have never heard any country vans when down that way im guessing they use mobiles more than anything else.

Or they're on the 79Mhz VHF network.

the repeaters use the 413mhz freq to link the repeaters, so thats the fre used to share the brodcast with the other repeaters so those repeaters can repeate it on the 70 mhz freq, there is a 413 coming off a tower here in marget river, havnt heard anything yet, might be some trees in the way, 1 Watt. its a pretty tall tower but? , but in order for the augusta area to be included , and nannup , that 413 frequenccy is needed, might be in with a chance, just hope they are all linked but and not icolated. MEANING - , i hope that augusta ambulnce depot can radio belmont HQ, do you think it would be Gavin?

Damn, copywriting scribbles in Microsoft Paintbrush must also be time consuming. Must take a fair amount of time away from rolling joints! :smt033

Two networks:

Country VHF
Metro UHF

Radio Op has to select country network to speak on country. Then has to swap back to metro.

So someone in Bunbury, would not come up on Metro UHF, likewise chat in perth wont come up on Country VHF

apart from the South West corridor how far in other directions does the 6ds country vhf repeaters go in?

can all the country vhf traffic via repeaters be heard by other sub-centres?

Only reason that i am asking i'm based out of the corrigin sub-centre and we use phones to get in contact with belmont and our hospital.
