Bomber totally correct:

Vic Uni St Albans Campus runs the 3 year degree course and are known to have alot of drop outs after the first year.

Monash Uni-frankston campus have only changed over recently and were previously must be employed by mas or rav to do the course.

The bonus with victoria is that there is not only mas/rav but private ambulance services that contract to the main ambulance service in that state so your chances are still good at getting a job.

This is why St.Johns are short in numbers - I think their expectations are too high, or not offering enough incentives.

For the next three years there is going to be a high level employed by rav. The gov is going to go to staff at all vol and co-located stations through the state, removing all volunteer ambos from the service.

I considered applying but have left it a tad too late, being remote I'm hoping to arrange some external units to minimize travel etc. Will wait for next year I guess. Can't apply for WAPOL because of a pre-existing medical condition, but SJA have no problem with it.

Thanks for the info bomber. Was wondering if you knew if the course is available to people not in St John? To re-phrase.. I want to be a paramedic, but was wondering if there are any courses I can do before next years applications/intake.
