Is that the right frequency? Was it police you were listening to?

(edit)

Ugh. Should have read /before/ posting. SJA forum, not police forum :-)

I've heard a few X-Ray callsigns on SJA before but I haven't figured out what they are.

No it was definetly Ambo`s as It was 6DS and this is the Freq i usually listen to for them..I realise they usually call in Depot-Numerics and thats why it caught my attention.I think it may have been at Tonkin Hwy the other night.

Xrays are the Paramedic Team Leaders, they respond to jobs to support and supervise field staff.

Kind of like a shift supervisor, you would have seen them driving around Nissan Patrols or Toyota Landcruisers with all the Ambulance markings.

They drive around one up and are intensive care paramedics, when they are not responding to jobs they visit depots and are based at the Operations Centre (6DS).

Thanks dazla...I had a feeling it might be them. Hats off to that crew and the others that attended that night...a tough job well done.

"Monty" is the managers name, basically the radio operator obviously couldn't remember his call sign (heaps of newbies in the call centre presently) so they're just trying his name to see if he'll answer.
Many of people who work out of HQ like managers (on and off the road), machanics, radio techs, equipment techs and all sorts of other support staff each have there own call sign. Main problem is there never used so new staff don't know them unless they look in the "handbook" and the onroad managers aren't permanent HQ staff. There just paramedics from the road doing a role change, usually only for a couple of months so they to often don't remember there own call sign.

Hope that helps

Yeah right,
hey you hear that there will be a new 'Tango' callsign? I think it has something to do with the new HQ being built.
